August 9, 2022 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT
Course 1
Sustainability 101 in your Everyday Clinical Practice
The time is now to get inspired on how you can adopt sustainability into your everyday practice. Many of us try our best to take reusable bags to the grocery store and reusable cups to our favorite coffee places. Recent surveys suggest that 77% of people are actively interested in learning to live more sustainably.
In today’s world, the word ‘green’ has become a trend in industry. Media continues to highlight environmental concerns about increasing carbon emissions, rise of temperature, and melting of ice caps. It can feel a bit overwhelming to see the impact we are having on our planet. However, there is hope and more dental professionals are interested in becoming environmentally friendly. ‘Eco-friendly’ and ‘green’ are often used synonymously and can indicate several things, such as renewability, sustainability, energy efficiency, no toxicity and having a reduction in carbon footprint. In the health-care sector, it includes sustainable and eco-friendly practices, designing of hospitals and offices as well as management of waste.Sustainable dentistry integrates dentist’s commitment to society and environment.
Knowing is half the battle, feel confident that you will be able to implement sustainable best practices in your dental practice. Sustainable is the future of dentistry.
